newme for avatarin, 2019
This was a project with the design firm Canaria and the robot startup OhmniLabs. Canaria created the conceptual design of newme, and I realized the design to the actual robot in production with OhmniLabs engineers.
newme was designed to be used as telepresence robots for avatarin platform in Japan. avatarin is a service users can log in to newme telepresence robots from all over the world through the internet. newme robots are installed in a lot of places such as museums, aquariums, department stores, etc. in Japan, so after the users logged in, they can enjoy exhibitions, aquariums, shopping, etc remotely.
