Hive Parklet 2015 - East Oakland
Located on the corner of Fruitvale and MacArthur lays a single parking Parklet. Ran by a local Bee Hive Cafe with the intent of expanding to the streets. Crafting a functional space for family and kids, ADA accessible, incorporated kids play area, and furnished with plants and plotters. One of the main features are the custom benches designed for multiple functionalities, weather as seating benches or table tops. Lined along the perimeter are coffee rails with incorporated coffee coasters and bar stools, ideal for on goers seekers. With such an active urban community it’s a unique local gathering space utilized by surrounding bay area cyclist, foot traffickers, and main street carpooling stations.
