"Newman" SOLD February 2009 - 9" x 12" Oil painting, 2009
Newman was a wonderful prairie dog, owned and loved by the son of a woman I work with, Mrs. C.
After Newman's passing, the family still mourned for him. As a gift, Mrs. C asked me to paint the family this portrait.
Intimacy is a recurring theme in my portraiture between people and their pets. After looking at many photos of this beloved pet, I chose this composition; the closeness, the cuddling and the love are clearly visible.
"Ted" SOLD October 2007 - 18" x 24" Oil painting, 2007
Ted is a wonderful horse owned by a friend I have known for years.
He is a graceful hunter-jumper, as the original photo of this composition was taken at a horse show.
"Daisy" SOLD December 2007 - 18" x 24" Oil painting, 2007
Daisy is owned by the same woman who owns the horse, Ted!
As a gift for her husband for Christmas in 2007, she wanted me to paint a portrait of their beloved dog Daisy.
