Creative Decisions and Design Robotics Competition

This project shows off the final design for my team's ME 2110 competition robot. The goal of this project was to design, build, test, and compete with an autonomous robot that can earn points by completing given tasks. Three main tasks are presented to earn points. This includes rescuing Buzz (a 2’’ wooden cube) from three aliens (2.4” x 1.7” x 1”) and returning him to the starting zone, raising a wooden rocket up as high as possible to a max of 100’’, and placing three RC cars (ping pong balls) into a specific section of a center console. While designing the robot, it must fit inside a go-no-go box, cost no more than $100, remain static at the end of the 40 second rounds, and only use energy from the provided sources (mechatronics kit, 64 rubber bands, and 5 mouse traps).
