The deck im using for this project, its an arbor backlash 40. While the graphics it originally had were nice, they have been sanded off and the board primed, waiting for a coat of red paint after the electronics case is attached.
Sizing up the locations of all the hardware before I begin to assemble the battery pack, I made the decision to build the 10S5P as originally planned. Worried I would have space issues I shrank the pack plan to 10S4P but was never happy with that decision.
My DIY spotwelder, I found designs on instructables for a spotwelder that fit my needs. Turns out it works perfectly and I was able to build the battery pack with no issues. Future plans involve redesigning the PCB's and potentially rewriting the software as I wasnt completely happy with either.

"Model L" Electric Longboard

I've started my second electric longboard, with many improvements on the first generation. This board will feature dual motors, smart motor controllers (the VESC), a proper cutoff switch and a 10S5P battery built out of salvaged Tesla Model S 18650 cells. This pack also features a BMS allowing for simple, quick charging. The theme for this build, the "Model L" comes from the batteries in this build, why not make my own version of a Tesla, when a Tesla is powering the project?

(8/15/16) More to come as this build progresses, I plan on having it finished within the next two weeks.
