While at RISD, I was in a group of 15 Industrial Designers sponsored by NASA with a goal to design a human powered moon buggy. We had constraints to adhere to such as: it had to fit in a 4'x4' box for shipping, carry-able by 2, powered by 2, 15" of ground clearance, 3-4 wheels & multi-terrain handling on a set race course at one of NASA's facilities. This was the 1st time for RISD to be involved in the international competition, usually only involving top engineering programs. We completed the race coming in at 3rd place.
