Ulstein X-bridge

Year: Fourth
Genre: Sheet metal, modular systems,
animation
Course: Product design 7 – Industrial project

This is the most extensive project yet done on my part. From a sparse brief saying that Ulstein wanted a new bridge, we developed ergonomic test models, real life animations and a full scale prototype of a three step implementation of the new modular system Ulstein X-bridge.

Our design opened for later placement and configuration of the bridge due to the modular aspect. Based on field trips to the factory and spending three days on an anchor management vessel mapping the use of the bridge, we identified and improved multiple aspects with todays bridge system.

What seemed to be a to vast task initially resulted in one the most satisfying products I have ever created.
