Cavotec - industrial remote

Year: Second
Genre: Technical design, user centred design
Course: Product design 4 – Design process

This project was the first real extensive project at IPD. Our client was the Norwegian company Cavotec, a company making industrial remote controls. Through a strict process we presented them with an indication of a remote control ten years in the future.

My idea was based on slimming down the internal components of todays controller and utilizing technology such as OLED-displays and multisensory joysticks.

This course was also linked to a course named User Centred Design, where we performed user tests throughout the whole idea development process.

I was rewarded with the price of best concept.
