Some illustrated colour spreads from a brief set by Bloomsbury Publishing, based on the life of the famous eponymous Jumbo the African elephant, who was moved from his native land to Paris, and then London, all for the amusement of the public.
Jumbo led a sad life, but taught us a lot about friendship, adaptation, alienation, and surviving in a strange land.

I love outlining in ink, and then using a variety of textures, some from inky mark making, others from things I find, like fungi.
