Hanging table 1 - When designing this tray I relied on research carried out by myself among people who travel a lot in the most popular in central and eastern European carriages of B, Bd, A, Ad type. Most of the individuals interviewed take with them a meal prepared at home (sandwiches, coffee, fruits, snacks).
Hanging table 2 - One of the problems in which the passengers struggle in such unnatural conditions was lack of possibility to free their both hands whilst having their snack for moments such as ticket control or turning the page of a book. In carriages of B type on every 8 seats of the second class compartments there are only 2-4 folded tables available (c.20/20 cm) which means that 4-6 of 8 passengers can not use a table.
Hanging table 3 - The simple method of folding, storing, mounting, the size of the tray fitted to the space of carriage used by a single passenger, together with material (moulded paper-mache), designed by myself to keep its rigidness for a suitably long time when soaked to prevent it falling apart, provides an adept solution. The tray, during tests in a moving train, did not present any problems even when the velocity of the train is high. The tests were purposely excessive. The tests were purposely excessive.
