Final rendering of concept - This concept allows enhanced accessibility compared to existing train toilet modules; the use of two doors means that wheelchair users can use a section of the gangway to turn their wheelchair, without having to do so within the confines of the module itself. With this said, the module is actually smaller than many existing train toilet modules. Handrails have been placed to help guide users around the module.
Baby change table open - The baby change table folds down from the wall, as with many similar existing tables. The curvature of the table increases safety during use. Built into the hinge is a paper dispenser that enables the user to cover the surface of the table with a sheet of paper. This increases hygiene, as it can be thrown away after use.
Baby change unit - The train toilet module has been designed in a modular way, to increase the efficiency of installation. As can be seen in this rendering, the baby change and toilet panel is installed as a complete unit. Designing the module in this way means that it can be fitted into new build rolling stock or retrofitted into existing trains.
Water and waste service tanks and support frame - Both the waste water and fresh water tanks have been concealed out of view behind the baby change panel. The frame has been constructed in such a way that it supports the tanks but also fits within the confined space around the tanks. Pipes connect the tanks to both the toilet and the sink.
