Jiang Yin Stadium - This is a rendering of my design for a 35,000 seat stadium for an Urban design competition we entered for Jing An, China. I collaborated with urban designers at Brearely Architects and Urbanists to seamlessly integrate the stadium into the surrounding district.
Jiang Yin Stadium cont. - Additional images of the stadium project including elevations, a preliminary 3d view without the roof and a section showing large pedestrian ramps flowing from the ground up to the concourse level. Below the ramps are spaces for additional sports facilities such as fitness centers, ping pong clubs, athletic gear retail space, etc.
Cao He Jing CBD - This project, in an outlying district of Shanghai, includes 2 office towers, a shopping mall, public plaza, sports center and office park. It is meant to revitalize an area of town with a new central business district. We elevated the mall with angled columns, to create a large covered pedestrian plaza for community events. The landmark towers above add a new bold form to the Shanghai skyline.
Cao He Jing CBD cont. - The close up view of the covered plaza show the large light wells cut through the mall above and the expressive forest of columns. A series of walkways flow over the recessed plaza. The diagrams demonstrate the main ideas behind our design moves including active rooftops, pedestrian flow throughout the site, a new landmark for the city, and how we maximized daylight to the office park buildings.
