Study Models
This type of model only shows the form of the building, walls and roofs. Windows and doors are NOT represented. Major architectural elements such as structural columns are usually shown but only in their basic form. For example a round column would be represented by a piece of wooden dowel, but no base or capital would be shown. These models are usually built out of a solid colored cardboard such as white museum board or chip board. The architect’s elevations may also be applied to the exterior of the model to show a graphic representation of doors, windows and materials. Generally includes a minimal site. Also included in this set are model studies of a portion of the building. Typically study models take between 25 - 60 hours to complete.
