Typographer Informational Poster: John Baskerville - (Complementary to Typographer digital piece) Medium: Adobe InDesign CS4 Dimensions: 32.5" w x 52" h Constraints: No use of color, must be in gray-scale. This large-scale poster was designed to inform viewers of Baskerville, while successfully tying in information about many other typographers. The goal of the project was to display all of this information in a way that matched the aesthetic of the featured typeface, which was often used in print pieces of the early 19th century.

School of Design Admissions Postcard - Medium: Adobe InDesign CS4 Constraints: Must present student work from previous years, and must use USPS postcard regulations for layout of design. Postcard designed for the School of Design at CMU to send to admitted students, in order to encourage them to choose our design program. Photography by Vivian Wang.
Typographic Grid Study - Medium: Adobe Illustrator CS4 Dimensions: 4.5" w x 4.5" h Type study that uses croppings of characters in the "Sabon" typeface, emphasizing key characteristics of the typeface in the context of a grid.
Manic Depression - Medium: Colored Pencil, Printed Symbols, and Cut Paper Dimensions: 9" w x 12" h Collage.
Type Face - (Complementary to Type Face digital piece) Medium: Adobe Illustrator CS4 Dimensions: 20" w x 10" h Component of class project, called the "Face Book," in which each student was responsible for one two-page spread. The goal of the project was to construct a face out of eight or less typographic characters (in this case: g, o, o, V, P, J, and C), and to use basic colors and a "typographic faux-pas" that matched the face's personality.
