Native American Lantern
Native American Lantern - This small tea light holder is a modern interpretation of the Trail of Tears, inspired from the tribe known as the Cherokees. In 1838 Jackson enforced an Indian Removal Policy which forced Cherokees to give up all their land east of the Mississippi River and migrate to Oklahoma. 15,000 Indians migrated and over 4,00 died due to starvation and exhaustion. It was common myth that when someone passed a rosebush grew in memory of the person, which eventually lined the trail.
