Illustration the book. G. K. Chesterton "The return of Don Quixote"
The work is supposed to reflect
the dual nature of Chesterton’s narrative, which includes comic sketches in English pubs of the early 20th century,
fictitious medievalism invading characters’ lives from the stage,
the mysterious world of an ancient manor
that was an abbey once.
This is not a realistic world,
but a sort of a theatre within a theatre,
where characters speak out
the author’s views in their interaction.
