M.L.C.S. (Magnetic Car Levitation System)
A student work. A suggestion for the solution of the congestion problem in the city center. The cars would be equipped with a magnet placed underneath them. The car would glide on a magnetic rail but would also be able to get off it and drive the conventional way. Both magnet and the rail would be positively charged so that the car would glide over it with no friction and therefore would be capable of great speeds. A network of rails would be above the city, and would create double the amount of space for traffic. Tops of buildings, where available, would be used as cross sections, each equipped with an elevator so that the driver can go down with his car and continue driving on the street if he wants. This student work was from the year 2006, the funny thing is that a few years later I saw a Scandinavian guy on Discovery Channel seriously experimenting with almost an identical system, I was flattered
