Robockey submission
Objective: Design and build three autonomous robots that play hockey on a 230cm X 120cm rink.
This project encompasses three main aspects of design to make a final product: software, the circuitry and the physical design.
In a team of three, my participation in it was to design and build the circuitry and software in conjunction with a second team member. Team communication was crucial to make a functional product.
The end robots had a requirement to fit in a 15cm diameter cylinder with 13 cm height. Powered by a 6 Volt lithium battery, it was actuated by a pair of brushed DC gearmotors and driven by a dual H-bridge, everything controlled with an M2 microcontroller.
Various iterations of prototypes were necessary to test and prove design solutions in a increasing process.
The robot would determine it´s position in the rink, wirelessly enable communication with the other team and enemy robots and catch and take a puck from any part of the rink to a set Goal. It would PLAY HOCKEY!
