This project is an aquarium I designed for my materials and processes class where we were learning to work with a variety of different materials including acrylics. This design was meant to have a strong architectural look that resembles that of a high rise building.

We had minimal time to finish this project but I wanted my model to be perfect, so to begin I made a few concept sketches, chose a final design, made a quick rendering, then went straight into the computer to begin laying the tank out.

The final model came out great. Two of the more prominent features included a water step that allows the surface of the water to be unseen, and a hidden lighting tray where you could attach various types of lighting. On the model I simply added blue Christmas lights which add a nice iridescent effect. It does hold water without leaks, and someday I may build up the courage to actually put fish in it.
