Kitchen Scales
A project completed in first year of university. to design and model in SolidWorks.
Although this project was completed as a team I headed up most of the initial Solidowrks modelling for the scales main body, another member of the team completed the mechanism model and as a team we tweeked the design and measurements until we were happy with the over all shape and look.
The mechanism could be disengaged for storage allowing the bowl to sit completely within the body of the scales. The mechanism would cause a needle to swing around between the base and outer body which would be behind a perspex part with the scale increments displayed. A slider on the bottom would allow the user to zero the scales.
