Frank Gehry Brochure Cover - Brochure created in InDesign for Typography class. The project idea was that it would be sold in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as a brochure in the gift shop and would be based on the concept of the artist's life and work. I developed the name and grid based on these ideas as well. I titled the brochure Superstructures because the word means large-scale art, and as Gehry said himself, "Architecture is art." The images and text were provided by my Professor Kelly Burgener.
Frank Gehry Brochure Title Spread - The words on the title page are a mirror of Gehry's building. They are representative of his abstract designs.
Frank Gehry Brochure pp 2-3 - There are two theme lines occurring throughout the brochure. The grid is consistent, with two main columns for text on each page. This page was designed to reflect the Experience Music Project design, as is shown in the photograph on this page.
Frank Gehry Brochure pp 4-5 - The main body font is the serif typeface Palatino, and the pull quotes, captions and cover text are all Helvetica Neue in different weights.
Frank Gehry Brochure pp 5-6 - The color scheme is based on the metallic materials used on many of Gehry's buildings.
Frank Gehry Brochure pp 7-8 - This pages previous to this one have been building up in a dramatic crescendo to work the reader in towards this grand page of the whole piece.
Frank Gehry Brochure pp 9-10 - This brochure was created for my Typography class during the Fall 2007 semester.
