Aphelion - Alarm Clock Redesign - Aphelion was developed in my Product Semantics studio. The original idea was to create an alarm clock that forced user interaction from the sound of the alarm and required the user to get out of bed.
The design of Aphelion focuses on the requirement of the user to retrieve the ball to activate the snooze. Aphelion doesn't exist to only make the users life difficult, its button layout is designed to be able to be used in a low visibility environment.
Aphelion - Concept Ideation - I drew inspiration for the design from many different sources ranging from, medieval catapult design, Bang Olufsen, and Dieter Rams. The result was Aphelion, an alarm clock that catapults a sphere across the bedroom sky as the alarm sounds
