International Collaboration on Upcycling - The Liangchairs
After being sent to Tongji University in Shanghai, China, we were asked to produce a product or numerous products using industry waste to encourage upcycling and influence a nearby community.
The materials our team of three had to work with were small plastic bottle reforms, green plastic boxes and unused film reels. We were also provided with waste from the community such as broken chairs and fabrics.
We used the materials and tools available to us to repair, redesign and refurbish the broken chairs. Giving these products back to the community demonstrated how upcycling can be cost effective and easily achievable with minimal effort.
Our team was awarded with the Best Team Co-Operation and Best Cost Effective Products.
