In this ink drawing, I used hatching to bring out textures and contrast in the composition. The piece features a detailed close-up of my cat, Alfie, interacting with a small monster I created, bringing a sense of curiosity and playfulness to the scene. The dark background enhances the focus on the subjects and highlights the intricate details achieved through hatching.
This project allowed me to experiment with creating depth and texture solely through line work, challenging me to convey form and dimension without blending. The result is a blend of realism in the cat’s fur and a touch of fantasy with the quirky character, merging different elements in a unique way.
