Documentary for Swedish Barrel Maker

Swedish barrel manufacturing – A Documentary film

This project is about recording the traditional Swedish barrel making craftsmanship and the host of the factory, Mats Andersson and his family's life. This over one hundred years old factory called Varalovs Tunnfabrik was founded in 1879 by Nils Andersson. It is located on the countryside of Engelholm, a small town in the south of Sweden.

Since February of 2012 they helped with building a barrel for the ‘Lo-fi Washer Project’ of Jiang Qian. After that we started to think about letting more people know of this magic heritage. So one of the intentions is to record the manufacturing process of barrels, to be a source of inspiration for creative designers. On the other side, it is also a way to help Varalovs Tunnfabrik with developing their business.

We've been there several times, observing and communicating with them. And now it’s time to follow us to this peaceful but interesting countryside life.
