Project brief:
"Many of current products lack character, they may fulfil technical requirements and work adequately but do they make the most of the materials they employ? Are they informative in communicating their function and functionality? Above all are they desirable products that encourage a sense of ownership and joy in their use? Even mundane everyday products can have “presence”, look at the Pifco Warmasphere electric fan heater, a product of its time (early 1960s) it is functional but also manages to look individual.
Taking inspiration from the Warmasphere you are to design a modern equivalent, a space heating appliance that is up to date and efficient but has character that sets it apart from competing products."
