The initial stage of the project required gathering ridership data which was then converted in to this map.
This map shows a heat map of the riders of the region along with the existing routes.
An analysis was conducted of the existing route in Christiansburg and the serivce provided to the riders.
After several drives along the route, int he bus as while as in single cars, it was found that the route could be made more efficient. Several alternatives were sought out after coming to a conclusion on the ones shown in this map.

The website shows the two routes that are in currently in service. A few changes may have been considered since last summer.

Blacksburg Transit Internship
Transportation Planning Internship at Blacksburg Transit. In this Internship I learned to analyze ridership patterns so as to update existing routes or assist in planning for new routes for Montgomery County. Through this internship I was able to improve my knowledge of the computer program GIS.
