Waterfront Museum Christmas Tree
The Christmas Tree was a project set by the National Waterfront Museum of Swansea.
The brief was to design an interactive Christmas tree for visiting children that would also be used in the museums theme of 'The Concept of Time'. The Christmas Tree would be placed in the main reception area of the National Museum.
The final design of the Christmas tree included a series of hoops placed on top of each other. Foam balls would be taken to the top hoop through a winding belt that would take small foam balls from the bottom to the top of the tree through a person winding a handle. At the top, the balls would fall in to the 1st hoop and then pass through and wind around each individual hoop before dropping through the bottom hoop and roll in to a ball pit where the foam balls collected, where the cycle could then start again.
