Graffiti
FiberGraf - fiber + graffiti - FiberGraf is a collaboration with graffiti artist, Jon Baker. I translate his words (”tags”), designs, bubble letters (“throw-ups”), and drawings (“pieces”), created digitally and with markers and pen on paper, into embroideries. I first transfer the images onto fabric, and then use my vocabulary of satin stitch, French knots, back stitch, split stitch, and basket weave to reinterpret Jon's designs.
