Light Stitch Project
Inspired by a photo taken whilst passing a tunnel, I wanted to express as if light was being threaded through.
Using open form design I strived to show the sharp contrast between light and material.
Personally printing CAD and design plans and creating a paper version beforehand, I repeatedly edited my design. By using a 1:1 sized paper vision, I designed the product for modification to be possible for different users.
By using laser to cut steel plates, we assembled the aluminum rivet together. We strived for the user to feel wrapped by the product, ensuring a more comfortable experience as he/she leaned backward.
An illusion of a steel plate intertwining with light was made.
