For three years I worked for Scentre Group Design and Construct (formerly Westfield) on the complete re-development of the worn out Pacific Fair shopping centre. As the on-site structural steel coordinator, I managed the design and delivery of nearly $15 million of steelwork. As a design-build operation, we had to quickly adapt our designs to changing situations and individual requirements of specialty tenants. The outdoor "resort" area is the focal point of the centre and is topped with a $2million steel dia-grid fabric roof with integrated dynamic LED lighting. The project has been a huge success and a big draw for Broadbeach.
