California ADU Competition Winner - The brief was to design a cost affective, environmentally friendly(ish), compact Accessory Dwelling Unit that would be accessible to anyone in the county for free. The engineered plans are to be pre-approved by the city for expedient permitting and are intended to encourage increased density through efficient use of existing yards. Ten winning designs were selected; two of which were done by Caron Architecture. My design was one of the ones selected as was my co-worker, Joanna Funke's.

California ADU Competition Winner
This was a competition held by the city of San Louis Obispo in an attempt to solve their immediate housing shortage. Accessory Dwelling Unit permits were issued to property owners with large rear yards. Plans for the winning entries were made available for free to those who were issued said permits.
