West Mission Bay Bridge
This was a collaborative project between TY Lin International and Safdie Rabines Architects. I was responsible for modeling the terrain and the entire bridge including the deck, columns, rails, barriers, and the lighting scheme.
The project is a proposal to replace the existing West Mission Bay Bridge that connects Ocean Beach to Sea World. The objective was to seamlessly transition pedestrian paths on the bridge to the river front below emphasizing the importance of the pedestrian over the automobile. The bridge features nodal points on the bridge that function as lookout points for pedestrians. These junctures feature site furnishings and integrated lighting components that make these nodes attractive and safe places to congregate.
