Hunter Ruthrauff

Upon completion of graduate school I began working for Safdie Rabines on a design competition to replace the 6th Street Viaduct and bridge in Los Angeles. As a designer, 3D modeler, and draftsman for the 6th Street Viaduct project I was responsible for creating the topography, viaduct columns, multiple variations of the main span’s signature pylon, and the transformation of the deck from one end of the viaduct in Boyle Heights to the opposing end in downtown. I worked closely with animators and rendering specialist from Parsons Brinckerhoff and structural engineers from Ty Lin International ensuring that what is designed strikes a balance between the sought after proporations and aesthetics.
