Design manager and design lead for the Minicat 2 program. Designed to be more inviting and less intimidating to the patient, the approach was to break away form the usual medical design aesthetic and to blend the accuracy and precision of a such a medical device with that of the look and feel of high end furniture.
"Going Up" To Reduce the need for a large complex mechanical assembly to raise and lower the rotating gantry (which had to maintain high tolerances), smaller patients are raised and lowered a few inches on a lifting seat to the correct position.
Offering different panel options allows harmonizing with decor and custom orders for Xoran Technologies customers.
