In 2011 myself, Jack Healy, Niall O'Loughlin and Robert Mckenna decided to enter the Redbull Flugtag. The 100th ever Flugtag was being held in Dun Laoghaire. We spent a week building our craft from thin wall aluminium, Household Insulating panels and Polyethylene film. The result was two 4.5m wings which were extremely light weight. The trolley for launch was constructed from 2 by 4 timber and held the craft 2.4m off the ground.
We ended up getting the furthest flight distance on the day and coming 3rd over all, receiving a team prize of €1000.
