Helium 3 Design

Radiation Detector - Engaged to draw on our experience in designing ruggedised enclosures, Helium3 was employed to develop a radiation detector for use during commissioning and decommissioning of nuclear submarines. The design focused on protecting sensitive electronics within a compact body for use in a harsh environment.

Production Line Machine - Helium3 used its experience in software modelling to work with a sanitary towel manufacturer to rationalize a range of existing machines into a single generic design. Close liaison with the company's engineering department allowed Helium3 to design out long existing interference clashes and tolerance issues.

Production Line Accumulator - Commissioned by a leading UK manufacturer of overwrapping equipment, Helium3 were asked to resolve the problem of accumulating products within a 24hr assembly line during maintenance procedures. Helium3 worked closely with our clients to conceptualise, detail engineer, and provide a comprehensive manufacture pack.

Reverse Engineerered Jigsaw - The Helium3 design team used our advanced software modelling skills to piece together a selection of drawings and 3D scan data, enabling our client to accurately and rapidly reverse engineer a new machine without affecting supply.

Fluidium Lava Lamp - A member of our team was contracted to translate Ross Lovegrove's original design into a high volume injection moulded project. A thorough understanding of tooling techniques, and close liaison with the client, enabled commercialisation whilst remaining faithful to Ross Lovegrove's original idea.

Muller Spoon - Helium3 were used for our experience in manufacturing and our ability to design visually attractive products. It was critical that the product functioned well, was attractive, and manufacturing costs were kept to an absolute minimum. High volume production means that weight reductions of milligrams can have significant impacts on costs.

Deck Organiser - Helium3 brought an innovative and fresh approach to the design of a standard item of yachting equipment which resulted in an enhanced product which now outsells the competition. Helium3's expertise in manufacturing methods and materials allowed the part count to be rationalised and manufacturing to be simplified.

Point of Sale Display - Installed at World Duty Free, Heathrow Terminal 1, this point of sale stand was shipped flat packed and assembled on site. Carefully considered shelf support brackets enabled high shelf loading whilst retaining the essential minimalistic brand aesthetic.
