Projected Interior Experience - This is a new upscale BBQ restaurant, grill, and convenient store. Hangar 19 is set up to service the corporate buildings of Fox Studios in Playa Vista. The buildings are located on the historical site where the Spruce Goose was built by Howard Hughes. Given this aeronautical theme, Hangar 19 has a nostalgically industrial feel, with a modern gourmet twist. My job consisted of designing the logos, menus, outdoor signage, business cards and employee uniforms.
Logo Comp Sheet - I was given the three colors at the top to work with- the yellow was for accenting if used at all. A quick initial comp sheet helped the team narrow down a general direction for the logo. This sheet was one of many as the team wanted to see a high volume of options.
Final Logo Decisions - These final logo decisions reflect the emphasis on the modern and streamlined mood of the restaurant.
Three LCD Screen Menus - Mounted behind the ordering counter are three vertical LCD screens instead of menu boards. Going digital with the wall mounted menus allows easy menu changes and looks more sleek. These three screens would be the default daily menus displayed.
Print Menu- Side 1 - This glossy tri-fold is the take-away menu for wallk-in customers. There was a lot of information to fit on a small sheet so we played with font and layout to get something that reads easily and clearly.
Tri-Fold Print Menu- Side 2 - We also took the opportunity to pull in a little thematic flair with the antique aeronautical blueprint borders and background.

Print Menu for the Outdoor Grill - The Hangar 19 grill is separate from the restaurant and situated outdoors for high-volume lunch hours. This take-away menu is printed vertically on card stock.
Employee T-Shirt Design - The employee uniforms were fun items to design. For the front of the house, we went with heather gray American Apparel shirts with the screen printed logo coming up the side. The rest of the uniform was tan Dickies and black sneakers. The chefs in the back have white chef coats with a mandarin collar and small logo on the breast. The line cooks wear red bandannas on their head with the screen printed logo.
