Alternative Movie Poster for “Metropolis” (1927)
I worked on this piece for about four months. Fritz Lang's Metropolis was way ahead of its time and I think is deserving of a well-made poster, and I think I did a pretty good job given all the time I took to make it. Granted, there are many movie posters for Fritz Lang’s Metropolis that have been made going back decades, so I tried to think outside the box when designing this poster. For the outer section I tried to give it an early 20th century expressionist feel to it, and the logo was based off the one shown at the start of the film. The shapes and forms were made in Adobe Illustrator and details like lighting and shading were done in Photoshop.
