Recently, I’ve been trying to improve my portfolio and add more to it as a part of my job search. I’ve been planning out some new works to post on this portfolio and this is the first of the set I have made. Like the title of this post says, it’s an alternative movie poster for the 2006 animated film Happy Feet. It’s an old favorite of mine so I decided to make an alternative movie poster for it.
Before I went to Adobe Illustrator to make the poster, I made a rough sketch of what I wanted to make. I decided to go for a patterned appearance to put an emphasis on the movies theme. I used two fonts that would work with those used for the official movie posters for this film. The font for the title is called Blank Idea and is from 1001freefonts.com. The rest of the text on the poster uses a font called Glockenspiel Regular. All the text was copied, pasted, and given a new color, to suggest depth.
