Lucky Brand Mentor Project

For this project, Lucky Brand provided me with the direction to design a bohemian look for a young jet-set girl that travels all over the world. The key to this project was that my ideal customer loved prints and her clothing consisted of a found object. My inspiration for a found object came from an embroidered doily that belonged to my mother.
For my sample I presented to the designer, I embellished the doily with beads and mirrors I hand embroidered around. For constructing my top I ended up finding a crochet long sleeve top that I repurposed and manipulated into becoming my top. The crochet fabric had a similar pattern to my doily sample so in the end I kept the inspiration from my found object.
