Hikari

Japanese design has always been a topic of great interest for me personally, the emphasis on detail but highlighting the principle theories of design. I chose a few principles in particular and those are:

KANSO (simple)
Elimination of ornate and things of simplicity by nature expresses their truthfulness.

KOKOU (austere)
Basic, weathered bare essentials that are aged and unsensuous.

SHIZEN (natural)
Raw, natural and unforced creativity without pretence.

SEIJAKU (calm)
Silence and tranquility, blissful solitude.

YUGEN (subtle profound)
Suggest and not reveal layers of meaning hidden within.

Keeping these Principles in mind i designed the Hikari (Japanese word for light and ambiance) this is not a light that is to illuminate a room, its primary function is to create a zen like ambiance where the light and shadows are balanced out, in today's day and age where we rarely get a moments peace i feel that this product will provide a slight sense of comfort after a long and hectic day.
