Komatsu forest, Graphical User Interface. - In the field of forestry machines, operators are suffering from "information overload". By using the human brains capability to store information in the different senses, vision, hearing, touching, we can reduce the amount of information that the operator is handling. A joystick was designed to make a link between the visual and the tactile user interface. The joystick was divided in three "working modes" which communicate with the graphical user interface on the screen. To avoid complex menu structures the information that is displayed in the screen is associated with a specific "working mode" and task.
