For this assignment we used every element of design. The elements of Design are: Line, Space, Texture, Shape, Value, and Form. We also used all of the Principles of Design. The principles of Design are: Emphasis, Rhythm, Pattern, Proportion, Unity, Contrast, and Balance. For this project, I used Illustrator. Illustrator is a vector based program. It is mostly used for posters, logos, boards, and anything that doesn’t look good pixelated. I used the paint brush tool, the pen tool, the shape tool, and the line tool for this project. My favorite principle of design that I created was Unity. It was the most difficult but I got it done, and I’m happy with the outcome. The elements and principles of design are important in a composition because they’re what make the art itself.
