As raw remnants collide with smooth surfaces, hybrid forms take shape within this collection
of handmade eyewear.
Luxury and decay meet through the dramatic use of highly charged material, animal bone and teeth against polished black buffalo horn, acetate and gold.

Montague presents her collection with titles deriving from European armorial codes including Chief, Heiress (Blonde and Gold), Arms of Expectation and the anomaly, Black Sheep. Indeed, Montague claims darks glasses as today's guise for modern armour.

The collection comprises of 6 styles, each having been designed and entirely hand carved in response to the natural form and character of the individual deer jawbone.
Seamless fused with a surreal mix of materials the result is as thought provoking as it is beautifully crafted.

AN HEIRESS IS A DAUGHTER WHO HAS INHERITED HER ARMS FROM HER DECEASED FATHER. Heiress Gold is handmade with fragments of original deer jawbone set with gold plated brass teeth contrasting polished black buffalo horn and acetate.
A WIDOW CONTINUES TO USE THE ARMS OF HER LATE HUSBAND WITH HER OWN ARMS IMPALED. The Widow is hand carved from fragments of original deer jawbone combined with contrasting polished black buffalo horn and acetate.
AN HEIRESS IS A DAUGHTER WHO HAS INHERITED HER ARMS FROM HER DECEASED FATHER. Heiress Blonde is formed from fragments of real deer jawbone alongside faux blonde horn.
A TERM GIVEN TO A 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN PRACTICE, IT BEING CUSTOM FOR SINGLE WOMEN TO DIVIDE THEIR SHIELD PER PALE, PLACING THEIR PATERNAL ARMS ON THEIR SINISTER SIDE, LEAVING THE DEXTER BLANK AS A SIGN THEY WERE RESOLVED TO MARRY. Arms of Expectation is handmade from fragments of original deer jawbone combined with matt semi-translucent nude pink acetate and rose tinted lenses.
THERE IS ONE IN EVERY FAMILY. Black Sheep is handmade from fragments of real deer jawbone up against matt black buffalo horn and acetate.
THE CHIEF IS PROBABLY THE MOST ENIGMATIC AND CONTROVERSIAL OF CHARGES. Chief presents the full found jawbone of a roe deer, framed with smoky grey acetate.
