Byker/Walker Project

Design done for a Spatial Strategies project while working on my MSc in Town Planning. The location was found to lack green spaces and greatly needed to improve pedestrian access to the area. Two of the sites have been vacant for over 15 years after the demolition of old industrial buildings. Our group decided to design the space and construct a flagship building to house retail space, offices, and leisure/restaurants. Greening the spaces with temporary uses and this building will hopefully bring more interest into the location. The sites will be open further development, while regulated to keep with the character and the goals of the project.
