I designed the Malibu 25LSV to serve as their largest boat in the model line for 2001, and to explore many design areas they had never investigated. The 25LSV was their first step into the world of 3D design and machining, and I built the hull and deck in Alias, from which master plugs for hull and deck were milled by Janicki. This hull was based on a previous Malibu hull, but was redesigned in every way to create a symettric hull (the original was not) and provide the flotation needed for a 25' vessel. This model was also their first with a head, which increased the side profile height but made for a very usable boat. I designed all surfaces, all mechanical layout, and the full interior for this boat. The hull from this project lives on, as it was used as the basis for their future 24LSV models.
