Hall of Insects

The Hall of Insects is a museum associated with the Entymology Lab on the Mississippi State campus. The museum places the insect specimens held by the lab on display for visitors to enjoy. The focus of this project is to take a woven wall prototype system and experiment with how it can be used as both a building skin and a screen wall.

A series of photographic and drawing studies were done to examine the hierarchy and order of the insect body.

The woven wall system is designed as a series of panels that can be aligned next to one another and act as a way to either screen out light or create unique lighting conditions and inhabitable spaces. The smaller-scale version of the wall system is used as a screen in the gallery space and the larger-scale version is used as the building skin.
