Beauty of the Beast
When I heard that the Gallery Della-Piana was hosting a Beauty of the Beast show, I immediately decided to do a series on insects. Their unconventional anatomy - mechanically jointed legs and exquisitely veined wings paired with the eyes of an alien - made them both a challenge and joy to depict. The paintings were made with watercolor and ink.
