Product Description - BACflip is a hand-held breathalyzer concept in which I submitted for a design competition on www.crowdspring.com through a company called Soberlink, Inc.
Product Development I - After modeling the existing circuitry to scale I created a case that would make battery and mouth piece replacement a much less stressful ordeal.
Product Development II - Assembly/Exploded views are essential to seeing how a product is put together and it also allows one to gain a better understanding of how it will work.
Product Instructions I - I decided to add a sleek flip open blow tube feature to give the hand held breathalyzer a design a little kick... thus the name BACflip. With a simple push of a button the blow tube flips out and activates the LED readouts.
Product Instructions II - Once the blow tube flips out and activates the device, the user will then blow through the mouth piece until the screen says STOP. The user's BAC will appear on the screen and the users GPS coordinates and picture will be taken and sent to any pre-registered email address or phone number.
Color Study - The competition called for a target market of mainly teenagers. So I rendered a few different colors that I thought might appeal to both sexes in that age range.
